Victorian German Sterling Black Enamel Floral Bangle Bracelet
A sleek and feminine bangle bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this lovely German-made piece has a simple and attractive design. The bracelet has a smooth, rich black enameled surface with a lovely glossy finish, which carries around the entire exterior. Incorporated into the enameling is a wonderful, hand painted floral design which includes vibrant blue, red and pink flowers, some resting atop green stems and each adorning gold accents. The flowers are random and interspersed throughout, carrying along the front and back of the bracelet, which has a fairly wide surface. The bracelet is hinged and clasps at the side, and the tongue is stamped "GERMANY" along with two maker's marks; additionally, the interior of the bracelet is stamped "935". A beautiful and unusual bracelet, it would stack nicely with other complimentary bangles. This bold Victorian bracelet blends seamlessly into modern day fashion, and is a perfect everyday piece!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/8" wide and approximately 2 1/8" tall. The surface measures a little more than 1/2" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting or to the black enamel and painted flower surface, which is free of chips or surface scratches. The hinge and clasp fasten securely and are in good working condition. There is a natural patina on the silver setting, which is normal for antique jewelry.
