Victorian Hand Carved Horn Dog Stick Pin
An absolutely lovely stick pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of horn, this wonderful piece portrays the hand carved face of a lovable dog. His expressive face includes endearing, deep-set eyes, prominent carved brows, a protruding snout, and floppy ears. A gold filled bar, mimicking a stick, is resting in his mouth and the charming animal rests atop a long silver stick pin. This is an exceptional piece that combines a beautiful design with superior craftsmanship!
Measurements: The stickpin measures 3 1/4" in total length. The dog's face measures 5/8" tall, 7/8" wide, and is about 3/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the stickpin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the setting or to the carved horn dog, which is free of noticeable chips or scratches.
