Victorian Sterling Topped 18kt Diamond Wishbone Pendant Necklace 0.85ctw
A spectacular diamond wishbone pendant necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Likely French in origin, this stunning piece, which was originally worn as a pin, is crafted in sterling-topped 18kt yellow gold. The pendant forms a 3-dimensional wishbone shape, which is adorned with a sparkling diamond encrusted surface totaling approximately 0.85ctw. The diamonds are a combination of old Mine Cut and Rose Cut stones, which line the wishbone in a pavé style setting. A modern 14kt white gold chain connects on either side of the wishbone, creating an absolutely stunning necklace. The chain clasp is stamped "14KT" and there is a small marking on the side of the wishbone; please see images. Widely recognized as a symbol for good luck, this exceptional wishbone pin conversion is gorgeous and would make an outstanding addition to any collection!
Measurements: The wishbone pendant measures approximately 1 1/2" long and 3/4" wide and the entire length of the necklace measures 19.5".
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant and chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver-topped gold setting, or to any of the Rose Cut and Mine Cut diamonds, all of which are intact. The chain clasp is secure and in good working condition. There is a darkened natural patina on the surface of the silver, which is normal for an antique piece and adds depth to the design.
