Victorian Sterling 14kt Rose Cut Diamond Flower Stud Earrings
These diamond flower studs from the Victorian era (ca1880) are simply beautiful! Each earring is crafted in sterling-topped 14kt yellow gold and has a sparkling Rose Cut diamond encrusted design. The 3-dimensional flowers have five curved petals and a diamond cluster center with an old European Cut stone at the center. The Rose Cut diamonds line the petals in an open backed pavé setting, and surrounding the center stone are 6 diamonds in suspended bezel settings. The reverse side reveals gold backs where secure yellow gold posts have been added. Beautiful and feminine, they are a lovely everyday accessory and would add a wonderful sparkle to any ensemble!
Measurements: Each earring has a 5/8" diameter and is slightly more than 1/4" thick. The total pennyweight of the piece is 4.0 dwt.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is very good. All of the rose cut diamonds are intact, and the posts are secure. There are some signs of surface wear and a few small places where solder is present on the reverse side, indicating that previous repairs or minor alterations may have been made at one point. The sterling has a natural darkened patina on the surface, which is normal for a Victorian era piece and adds depth to the design.
