Victorian Sterling "Gucci Style" Bracelet & Padlock Heart Locket
A beautiful sterling link bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely piece is comprised of 6 hollow anchor links that alternate with oval sterling connectors. This common Victorian link is what the modern "Gucci link" was replicated from. At the center of the piece is a puffy heart-shaped padlock, which serves as the clasp of the bracelet. The back of the silver heart reveals a small glass window where a special photograph could be stored inside. The handle of the padlock clasp loops securely through the sterling rings, and there is a safety chain for added security. A simple yet beautiful Victorian, piece that lends itself perfectly to modern day fashion!
Measurements: The overall length of the bracelet measures approximately 8" long. Each anchor link measures 1" long, 3/4" wide, and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is very good. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting, and the padlock clasp is secure and in good working condition. The glass covered locket face is intact, and the safety chain is secure. There is natural patina on the surface of the silver that gives it an antiqued look, which is normal for a Victorian era piece and adds depth to the design. However, it could be polished for a brighter look if desired.
