Art Deco Sterling Faceted Teardrop Amethyst + Marcasite Dangle Earrings
A beautiful pair of amethyst and marcasite earrings from the late Art Deco (ca1930s) era! Each earring is crafted in sterling silver, and displays a lovely drop design. A gorgeous faceted teardrop amethyst stone swings freely from the base, exhibiting a regal purple hue that catches the light beautifully with every turn. A marcasite encrusted cap is riveted through the top of the stone, allowing it to dangle below the complimentary surmount. Decorating the elongated center link are sparkling marcasite stones, delicate beadwork details, and fine milgrain work. Finishing the piece is a triangular shaped topper graced with a single marcasite stone, and a natural patina provides depth and contrast throughout the design. The colorful amethysts look incredibly vibrant paired with the darkened silver, and the sparkling marcasites are the perfect finishing touch! Resting behind the topper, is a simple post and earring back and stamped on the back of one earring is a "STERLING" purity mark. When worn, the earrings dangle with lovely movement, and would look beautiful worn day or night!
