Art Nouveau 10kt & Diamond Repousse Woman & Bird Locket

SKU: 45414

A beautiful Art Nouveau-style locket from the Edwardian (ca1900) era! This lovely piece is made of 10kt yellow gold and has a wonderful repousse image that graces the front. The image is intricately detailed, depicting a woman with long flowing locks of hair, a crown of flowers atop her head, and realistic facial features. At the sides of the locket are four charming birds, which sit perched on outstretched tree branches. A single old Mine Cut diamond is set at the top, meant to represent the sun or moon in the sky. A set of monogrammed initials in fancy script are engraved on the back of the piece. The locket opens to reveal a space for a special photograph inside. At the top of the piece is a simple gold bail, making it easy to hang and wear from a chain. A stunning example of repousse work from the Art Nouveau era, this gorgeous locket would make a wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The locket hangs 1 1/4" long, is 3/16" thick, and has a 1" diameter.

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides minimal normal surface wear to the back, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, and the diamond is intact. The locket opens and closes easily and securely, and the bail is in good condition.
