Edwardian Large 9kt/Sterling "REGARDS" Anchor Pendant
A beautiful anchor pendant from the late Edwardian (ca1919) era! This striking sterling silver piece forms the shape of a large, 3-dimensional anchor with lovely rose gold accents across the front surface. A gold ribbon-shaped plaque drapes downward across the anchor, and etched across the front is the word "REGARDS" in block lettering. Two rose gold ivy motifs with similar etching adorn the top and base of the anchor, adding to the wonderful mixed metals appeal. Finishing the design is a twisted rope wire that wraps around the entire piece, providing lovely 3-dimensional texture to the design. Resting on the back of the anchors' loop at the top is a hidden bail, and stamped along the back are several English hallmarks including the lion (indicating its sterling purity), shield (indicating it was assayed in Chester) and the date letter "T" dating the piece to 1919. A wonderful nautical-themed piece, this bold pendant would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant measures approximately 1 1/2' long, and about 1" wide, and is about 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling and rose gold setting. There is a natural patina along the surface of the piece, however, this is normal given its age and adds to the richness of the piece.
