Victorian 14kt Carved Coral + Natural Pearl Dangle Earrings
A beautiful pair of coral teardrop earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each 14kt yellow gold earring dangles a hand carved coral teardrop link at the base, which hangs beautifully from a complimentary surmount. Decorating the entire surface of the coral links is a carved floral motif depicting incredibly detailed blooming flowers. A lovely filigree wirework cap secures the link to a delicate chain extension that frames a carved coral bead. The carvings mimic a blooming rose bud, and flanking the coral is a delicate natural pearl bead on either side. The coral exhibits a rich salmon color with milky white marbling that perfectly compliments the eye catching surface luster of the pearls and vibrant gold accents. A simple post and earring back (stamped "14K") rest at the back of the flower shaped topper, which allows the earrings to dangle with lovely movement. When worn, the earrings frame the face beautifully and would look perfect worn day or night!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/2" long, and measures about 1/4" wide and thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the carved coral links and pearl beads. The earring posts and backs are intact and in good working order.
