Victorian 14kt Graduated Turquoise Bead Necklace with Enameled Clasp
This Victorian (ca1880s) turquoise necklace has a colorful, stylish look! Substantial graduated turquoise beads are patterned with 14kt oval-shaped yellow gold spacers to create a bold dimensional look. The round, polished turquoise displays various shades ranging from robin's egg blue to vibrant sea green, several featuring natural black and brown webbing. The necklace secures with an oval-shaped push clasp decorated with a two-sided sweet violet flower design. Deep blue enameling lines the flower petals as bright yellow dots the center. Light green enamel graces the leaves, and the triangular sunburst border displays a light blue on one side and a deep royal blue on the other. A very wearable and fashionable piece, it is perfect for any turquoise lover and would make a fantastic addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 17" long. The beads range from about 1/4" in diameter to 9/16" in diameter.
Condition: The necklace is in excellent overall condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the turquoise beads or to the 14kt yellow gold settings. The push clasp attaches securely and is in good working condition. There is visible wear to one of the light blue enamel rays and to one side of the royal blue, but this does not detract from the clasp's beauty or integrity. The beads are securely strung.
