Victorian Gold Filled Bohemian Garnet Horseshoe Necklace
A gorgeous horseshoe necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era. Most likely originally worn as a pin, this beautiful horseshoe has since been converted to be worn as a striking necklace. The piece is encrusted with 64 vibrant garnets which graduate slightly in size and are placed in two rows along the surface of the pendant. The garnets have lush hues of deep reds which look fiery red when they catch the light. A simple gold filled chain attaches to the horseshoe at 2 small rings at the tips of the and clasps at the back. A real beauty, this stunning piece would look lovely worn alone or with other pendants!
Measurements: The horseshoe measures 1 1/2" long, 1 1/4" at the widest point and has a depth of 1/8". The chain measures approximately 17.75" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the horseshoe necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold filled setting or chain or to the bohemian garnet stones, all of which are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
