Victorian Sterling Agate Padlock Pendant + Chain Necklace 18.5"
A fabulous padlock pendant necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this beautiful piece consists of a bold interlocking link chain and a functioning padlock pendant at the center. The padlock has a shield shape and a reversible design adorning a beautiful, translucent milky agate stone on one side and a lovely etched design on the other. The carved image covers the entire surface, depicting a delicate flower and swirled petal-lined vines. The handle of the padlock also serves as the clasp, pulling open and fastening securely shut at one side. The chain attaches to either side of the pendant, and features round interlocking links, each adorned with a deep groove at the center, adding wonderful depth and texture to the design. The necklace blends seamlessly into modern day fashion and makes a stylish statement piece that could be worn everyday!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 18.5" in total length, including the pendant at the center. The pendant hangs approximately 1 1/4" long, 3/4" wide, and 1/4" thick. The chain measures about 1/4" wide and thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. The agate stone is intact and securely set. The padlock clasp is secure and in good working condition.
