Victorian Sterling Silver Banded Agate Earrings
A lovely pair of banded agate earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each of these bold earrings features a large banded agate bead that hangs below a sterling silver wire. The smoothly polished stones display a wonderful range of colors, including rich dark brown banded with stripes of creamy grey and white. In between the large bead and the earring wire is a small accent bead, completing the surmount and adding additional length. When worn, the earrings frame the face beautifully, dangling with lovely movement! These stylish Victorian earrings merge effortlessly into modern fashion, and would make a wonderful everyday accessory!
Measurements: The earrings hang 1 5/8" in total length, including the silver wires. The large banded agate beads at the base measure 14mm in diameter, while the smaller accent beads are 4mm in diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is great. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting and the silver wires are secure and in good working condition. The large banded agate stones have a few minor but visible chips/cracks, however, due to their location, there are hardly noticeable when worn.
